A few words about our History

Dog Club started out of a love and desire to work with dogs. Having been raised with several breeds as a child it is hard to remember a single time in my childhood, without  a 4-legged member in our family.

Dogs are a passion of mine, in particular the German Shepherd, something I inherited from  my father. With his encouragement, I later changed careers to do what I really love, help dogs and their owners. I was fortunate to have had some of the best instructors available – both in the USA and Germany.  In Germany, I learned Schutzhund (German for protection dog) with our GSD Ace.  I belonged to SV Pinneberg (“Verein für Deutsche Schäferhunde” these clubs strongly promote a variety of working dog activities) and had the privilege of working with a fantastic group of passionate, knowledgeable, and experienced people. I feel lucky to be able to do what I love.

My goal as a trainer is to enhance communication and improve relationships between dogs and their owners.  Consistency is key in training. By empowering my clients with an understanding of canine behavior and the training that influences it, they are better prepared to face any challenges that may arise. By giving them the tools to reduce unwanted behaviors and replacing them with acceptable behaviors, they can build a happier and healthier relationship together.
